A Graduate of Harvard and Berkeley Visited ASOI

As part of the implementation of the English-language environment at Almetyevsk State Oil Institute on July 23, 2019, the international projects department, together with the English Club of PJSC TATNEFT, met with an American Michael Hsu. Michael is a biologist, specialist in HIV prevention, and a graduate of Harvard and Berkeley, the best universities in the United States. The meeting was held at the Competence Center of PJSC TATNEFT. All students, teachers and staff of ASOI, actively studying English, were invited to the meeting. In an open conversation, participants could ask any questions regarding the US higher education system, language, family values, and even raise political issues. The participants also discussed the main hobby of the guest speaker - travelling: he visited 86 countries and worked in Africa, China and the USA. On the second day, Mr. Hsu visited the Museum of History and the Geological Museum of the AGNI, accompanied by the head of the Department of Geology, R.N. Burkhanov and the head of the international projects department, T.I. Ziapparov. Due to this academic background, he showed a keen interest, first of all, to the fossils of organic origin. We are sure there will be more meetings like this one ahead.
